Adam Sebastian Helcelet

Born in 1991 in Turnov, he competes for PSK Olymp Praha. In the decathlon he worked his way into the European elite — ten events over two days demand speed, strength and technique at once, and above all the ability to hold performance together when one of them goes wrong.

His biggest success came at the 2016 European Championships in Amsterdam, where he took silver. A year later he added bronze in the heptathlon at the European Indoor Championships in Belgrade and finished eighth at the World Championships in London.

He represented Czechia at the Olympic Games in Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020.
